Voter ID-Aadhar Card linking: Linking Aadhar with PAN Card (PAN Card Aadhar Card Link) So it was already necessary, now it has become necessary to link Aadhaar with Voter ID also. There were complaints that a person has more than one voter ID card. With the new decision of the government, only one voter ID card of a person (Voter ID Card) and after identifying more than one voter ID, their fake cards will be canceled. Along with this, the government has taken three more important decisions. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has given information about the four decisions by tweeting. The government has also issued notification.
The government issued four notifications on Friday. These include linking the voter list data with Aadhaar, making the election law gender neutral for service voters and allowing youth to enroll in the voter list four times a year. Till now this arrangement was only for one time. Late last year, Parliament passed the Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2021. These these notifications are part of that.
Explain that soldiers posted in remote areas or members of Indian missions abroad are considered as service voters. Law Minister Kiren Rijiju announced through Twitter that four notifications have been issued in this regard in consultation with the Election Commission.

What is the meaning of these decisions?
- In fact, the first decision will enable linking of voter list data with Aadhaar, so that the problem of the same person being named in the voter list at multiple places can be removed. Regarding the second decision, he says that now any young citizen who has completed 18 years of age on January 1 or April 1 or July 1 or October 1 of any year will be able to apply for registration as a voter immediately.
- According to the Law Minister, given four opportunities, the number of voters will increase. In the current system, a citizen can apply for enrolling his name in the voter list only after completing 18 years of age on January 1. Those who have completed 18 years of age after January 1, have to wait for a full year. That’s why you must have seen January 1 by default in the voter ID card of many!
- Another important decision is regarding making the election related law gender neutral. Under this, it will be that the word spouse will be included by removing the word wife. This service will allow Voter’s wife or husband to avail the facility available to cast vote.
- Apart from this, the Election Commission will now be able to demand any premises to keep election related material and to accommodate security forces and polling personnel.
