Vidhan Mandal session from today; Let the proceedings be wasted on uproar!

Bangalore: After a long break, the state legislative session will begin from Monday and there is a possibility of conflict between the administration and the opposition. As the elections are around the corner, the opposition is gearing up to attack the government by raising various issues including the 40 percent commission charge, the PSI scam, the heavy rains in the state and the chaos created by the rains in Bengaluru. The government is also prepared to give appropriate compensation.

After the budget session last March, there was no session of the Vidhan Mandal. During the previous session, the controversy over hijab and saffron shawl made a lot of noise. It also echoed in the legislature. There was no opportunity to discuss many popular issues due to the rain of criticism and comments. Let it not happen this time. People want a meaningful discussion and work to find a solution to the burning problem of the state.

Many weapons in the quiver
This time the opposition has many weapons in its quiver to propose in the House. Allegations of contractors’ association, PSI scam, allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process of various departments are prominent among these. The opposition Congress is already ready to discuss these issues. The possibility of a tense atmosphere in the House due to the barrage of accusations and counter-accusations cannot be ruled out.

The meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will be held on Tuesday, after which the issue of the opposition in the House will be finalized. HD Kumaraswamy, leader of the JDS legislative party, who was on a trip to other states including Delhi and Telangana, has also returned and will hold a meeting with the MLAs of his party. After that, he will finalize the agenda of JD(S)’s struggle in the event.

Prepare for a comeback
The government is also ready to give a befitting reply to the allegations of the opposition Congress. This clue was found on the stage of the Janaspandan program held in Doddaballapur. In this meeting, some leaders including BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi mentioned about the cases of Congress government led by Siddaramaiah. CM Basavaraja Bommai has also spoken aggressively challenging the opposition. It is certain that its influence will be seen in the House as well. The intention of the government is to counter the accusation of Congress in its own way. No wonder this creates a ruckus in the House.

Key Bills

The government is preparing to present the Metropolitan Authority Bill which will help in smooth traffic of Bangalore city. Also, the Land Revenue Amendment Bill will be presented to allow land conversion within 72 hours.

A meaningful discussion is necessary
It is of no use if the legislative session is confined to a tussle between the administration and the opposition. Making good legislation is an important part of the proceedings of the House. Along with this, a meaningful discussion should also be held to find solutions to many problems. Due to the heavy rains in the state this time, life has become difficult. Compensation should be provided to the victims in Samaropadi. Thousands of crores of Rs. Infrastructure is lost. Crops were damaged on a large scale. In this regard, the task of alerting the government to take action for relief and rehabilitation should be done in the House. Even in Bengaluru due to rain there is a big disruption and the brand image of IT city is affected. Instead of making political criticism about this, it will be appropriate if we forget the partisanship and discuss what measures are necessary to maintain the reputation of Bangalore.
