Mysore Anantha Swamy’s raga composition for Nad Gita is final: Welcome to Kannada Sahitya Parishad

Bengaluru: Raga composition by Mysore Anantha Swamy and time duration of 2 minutes 30 seconds have been finalized for Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Virachita Nad Gita ‘Jayabharat Janani Tanujate’ as recommended by the committee chaired by Sangeet Vidushi H.R. Leelavati. Nadoja Dr. Mahesh Joshi, President of Kannada Sahitya Parishad welcomed this decision of the state government.

The Kannada Sahitya Parishad has congratulated Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai for solving the long-standing issue. Earlier, the council had put pressure on the government that Itishree should sing about this confusion even before the 86th All India Literary Conference to be held in Haveri. Mahesh Joshi praised the government for taking a good decision in this context.

Kuvempu’s poem ‘Jayabharata Janani Tanujate’ was sung in 1971 by the Kannada Sahitya Parishad with Kuvempu’s consent and declared the present song as Naadageeta by singing it in all its programs. Further, the Karnataka Government declared this song as the official national anthem of Jayabharat Janani Tanujate on January 6, 2004.

G.S. Shivarudrappa, Vasant Kanakapura, Dr. Four committees under the leadership of Chennaveera Kanavi and Dr. H.R. Lilavati were appointed from time to time and reports were received but the route was not finalised. Finally, the government has finalized the composition given by Mysore Ananthaswamy.
