Sakaleshpur MLA H spoke about the forest disaster. K. Kumaraswamy requested to give 25,000 compensation to those who died due to elephant attack or to give them a government post. Crop loss should be fixed and compensated every year. Barricade has been given. But he requested that permanent compensation should be given and action should be taken to relocate the elephants.
CM Bommai replied to this, there is a problem of elephants in the districts bordering the forest. But getting elephants together is not an easy task, they tend to be in groups. Railway barricade is being installed to prevent forest menace. He said that a new type of fence is being installed experimentally in Bandipur.
100 crores are being spent on 74 km barrier fencing in Hassan district to prevent forest encroachment. In case of crop damage due to elephant attack, the compensation is doubled. He said that action will be taken to increase the compensation for life damage.
Action will be taken to release the elephants that are giving birth to the forest. CM Bommai assured that action will be taken to implement the warning system on a better scale and after discussing with the officials about the elephant corridor, action will be taken.
