CPI Rich Illa’s condition still critical after being assaulted by ganja thugs: Araga Gyanendra

Bangalore: Home Minister Araga Gyanendra has informed that the condition of Kalaburagi CPI Srimantha Illa, who was assaulted by ganja criminals, is still serious. He gave a press statement about this on Tuesday and said that Srimantah Illala has not come to his senses yet.

A group of about 40 miscreants attacked the policemen who had gone on an operation on Friday in the farm of Honnali in Basavakalyana taluk, bordering Karnataka and Wadi near Tururi in Maharashtra, in connection with the case of ganja.

In this incident, the service revolver, which was stolen by the miscreants, has also been seized. Araga Gyanendra said that eight people have been arrested by the police and the investigation has been intensified.

During the incident, CPI Srimantha Illala was seriously injured due to the attack by the miscreants and is being treated in Bangalore, but the doctors who are still treating her have informed that she has not regained consciousness.

CPI Srimantha Illala was shifted from Kalaburagi Hospital to Bangalore via Air Ambulance for further treatment. He is currently being treated at Manipal Hospital.

A team of Mahagaon Police headed by Kalaburagi (Rural) CPI Srimanta Illa went to Tururi Wadi on Friday night to nab the accused after receiving information that a ganja smuggler was getting contraband from Tururi Wadi village.

On this occasion, about 40-50 miscreants attacked Illa with weapons and escaped. Srimant Illal, who was seriously injured, was admitted to the United Hospital in Kalaburagi.
