Congress leaders’ talks with SR Patil: An attempt to calm the discontent

Bangalore: Senior Congress leader SR Patil, who is upset that he was being neglected by the party because of the wrongful transfer of the Vidhan Parishad ticket, has come forward to pacify the rebellion of the Congress leader. In this regard, on Friday, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, KPCC President DK Shivakumar, Assembly Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah met SR Patil and held talks.

AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala held a consultation with SR Patil, former Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, at a private hotel in Bengaluru on Friday evening before leaving for Delhi. In recent times, SR Patil has kept a distance in the Congress.

S.R. Patil, who was the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, was again seeking the Parishad ticket. But he was not given a ticket. Later, he internally expressed his displeasure that he was being neglected in the party.

Disgruntled that he was being ignored in the party, SR Patil decided to hit out at the state leaders. He held a separate tractor rally for the implementation of the North Karnataka Niravari Schemes while remaining in the party to retaliate against the resentment that he was being neglected as an elder.

He organized a program under the name of Annadatana Koogu in the name of Uttara Karnataka Swabhimani Vudhya. Meanwhile, he had recently met Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah separately and had a discussion. After this, Siddaramaiah, Surjewala and DK Shivakumar met SR Patil and had a discussion.
