Union Land Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had earlier promised to complete the work on this expressway by the time of Nada festival Dussehra. Currently, under the leadership of Gadkari, the churning program of the country’s national highways is going on in Bangalore. The meeting started on Thursday and the Bangalore-Mysore highway was also discussed. However, it is said that there is no clear promise about opening this road for Dussehra.
The statement made by CM Basavaraja Bommai in response to the reporters after attending the meeting led by the Union Minister seems to support this.
The date for the inauguration of Bangalore-Mysore Expressway cannot be fixed now. There is a discussion that the work of this road should be done more quickly. There is also the issue of land acquisition. All this needs to be settled,’ said the CM.
‘We have come to know about the problem of rain water drainage system on this road. The Union Minister has suggested to prepare a new plan for the construction of internal drainage system knowing that wherever the water is stagnant, wherever the water can stagnate. This is a technical project and will be done in the near future, he said. CM Bommai said that the authorities will provide the entry and exit points on the request of the villagers.
Hubli – Dharwad Bypass
Hubli-Dharwad bypass road was discussed last time. Accordingly, the tender has been handed over to the private sector. Almost the work will start in 2-3 months. CM Bommai said that there is a discussion about major highways starting from Shiradi Ghat.
