Bangalore: Karunadu is all set to make the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign announced by the Central Government a success as part of ‘Swatantryada Amrita Mahotsava’. From August 13 to 15, the national flag will fly in one crore homes of the state for three days.

The state government has made a special plan to deliver the national flag to the people as part of the campaign. For the benefit of people in rural areas, permission has been given to sell the national flag in gram panchayat offices and fair price shops. 50 lakh flags will be supplied by the Department of Kannada and Culture. On the instructions of the Centre, a tender has been given to Grasim Company to manufacture the flags required for this department. The remaining 50 lakh flags will be supplied by the Rural Development Department, Textile and Village Industries Department, Stri Shakti Sanghs, various government and private organizations.

Other organizations and public in Karnataka are also involved in the preparation, supply and sale of flags. The Department of Kannada and Culture has already informed through a circular to open sales centers in all districts so that flags can be easily purchased by the public. The Education Department has informed through a circular to hoist the flag in all government and private offices, schools and colleges.

Where is the tricolor found?
Sale of national flag has been allowed in fair price shops, gram panchayat office, anganwadi centers, government school and college premises. Flags will also be sold during the Lalbagh flower show in Bengaluru.

How much is the rate?
22 per flag. The price is fixed by the central government.

What is special about flags?
The tricolor flag will measure 20/30 inches. Apart from plastic, it is made in various fabrics like cotton, khadi, polyester, silk etc. Already dispatched to the districts through trucks.

The target is completed by August 6
40% of our target (40 lakh) flags have already been sent to the districts. It will be completed by August 6. People can also use it by sewing it themselves.
