Success Story Of IAS Topper Himanshu Gupta: If you prepare with better strategy in Civil Services, then you can get success sitting in any corner of the country. Today we will tell you the story of Himanshu Gupta who became IAS by securing All India Rank 139 in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020. Himanshu, who hails from a small town in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, made a unique record by passing the UPSC examination three times in a row, thanks to his hard work. His story tells us that even living in any village or town, success can be achieved by preparing for an exam like UPSC. 

Himanshu’s journey began like this 
Himanshu does not belong to a high class family, but to an ordinary family. His father is a shopkeeper and mother is a housewife. Himanshu used to go to his father’s shop every day and read newspapers there. While reading the newspaper, enthusiasm about UPSC woke up in him. What was then Himanshu decided to prepare for civil services. For this, the reason for going to Delhi, he decided to prepare digitally by sitting at home. His decision proved right. 

passed UPSC exam three times in a row 
Himanshu first read NCERT books and then prepared from standard book. He did not take any coaching and kept working hard. Himanshu passed the UPSC exam in the year 2018 in the first attempt and got the Indian Railway Service according to the rank. Then in 2019 he achieved success and this time got Indian Police Service. He did not give up and got the IAS service after passing the exam for the third time in the year 2020.

Himanshu’s advice to other candidates 
Himanshu achieved success through self study. For preparation, he took the help of internet and gave mock tests digitally. Whatever study material he found on the Internet, he would take out a hard copy of it and study. Himanshu says that you can prepare for UPSC even by staying in a town or village. You sit at home and make a good strategy with the help of internet and make yourself strong for the preparation. Keep working hard and also analyze your preparation. Where mistakes are found, rectify them and give paper in a better way.
