BPSC TRE Shikshak Bharti: Bihar government reaches Supreme Court on the issue of B.Ed degree holders

BPSC TRE Shikshak Bharti 2023: The state government has gone to the Supreme Court against the decision of not considering B.Ed degree holders as eligible for appointment as primary teachers. SLP has been filed by the state government regarding this decision. Before the decision of the Supreme Court, the process of appointment of teachers in Bihar had started. Under the appointment process, applications for primary teachers have also been taken from B.Ed degree holders. Written examination has also been done. In such a situation, the state government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court requesting to give a chance to B.Ed degree holders in this appointment. In this regard, Advocate General PK Shahi said that the decision to consider B.Ed degree holders not eligible for primary teacher appointment was taken on August 11. Earlier, BPSC had released the advertisement for appointment. Three lakh 76 thousand applicants for primary teacher appointment are B.Ed degree holders. Therefore, the Supreme Court has been requested to allow B.Ed degree holders a chance in this appointment. In further appointment, B.Ed degree holders will not be considered eligible for primary teacher appointment.

It is noteworthy that the recruitment process going on for about 1.70 lakh posts of secondary, higher secondary, primary and primary teachers in Bihar is now in the decisive phase. Verification of documents of the candidates for the post of Secondary Teacher has been completed. The work of document verification for primary teacher posts has started from September 20. In such a situation, if B.Ed pass candidates get permission from the Supreme Court, then lakhs of candidates will get relief.

Bihar Public Service Commission had conducted the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) on 24, 25 and 26 August 2023. About 6 lakh candidates had participated in this examination. The results of BPSC TRE were not declared, meanwhile the Commission has got the document verification work done for Secondary Teacher posts from 4 September 2023 to 15 September 2023.
