Bura said the BSF is also conducting joint patrols with the Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and police to thwart the nefarious designs of the terrorists.
BSF Inspector General told reporters, “Having received information that anti-national elements may create problems, we have put on ‘high-alert’ along the border and in the hinterland (to thwart their designs). ”
Bura said the intelligence clearly points to the possibility of some cross-border activities. “We have received information about activities like infiltration or movement of arms, ammunition, explosives into our territory or drug smuggling. But we are on high alert and we will not allow anyone to succeed in these nefarious designs.
“We have made a plan to deal with these activities. The maximum number of soldiers and officers are present on the border. We have announced two weeks of surveillance along the border and a massive operation on the border.
“Every year during this period there is pressure on the security situation at the borders,” he said, “But we are here ready to face all the challenges and thwart the nefarious designs of anti-national elements.” .”
“We have all the human and technical resources available,” Bura said. We are confident that we will be able to meet the challenges effectively.
The IG assured the people living in the border and hinterland that they have nothing to fear as the BSF is very alert along the border. “We will do everything possible to ensure the safety of the people,” he said.
