PM Narendra Modi admires Jharkhand’s archer Savita Kumari, received National Children’s Award

Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the National Children Award winners through video conferencing on Monday. In the program, Savita Kumari of Sonahatu block of Ranchi district was also present in the virtual program along with her parents, District Social Welfare Officer Shatrujay Kumar and CDPO. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented digital certificates to the PMRBP awardees for the years 2022 and 2021 using blockchain technology during the event.

Archer Savita brought laurels to Jharkhand
Savita participated in the archery competition for the first time in 2014 while studying in Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, Akshay Prasad Ganjhu, Tangtang resident of Sonahatu block of Ranchi and Kiran Devi’s daughter Savita. In 2018-19, Savita was selected in the Khelo India scheme. In the first Khelo India School Games Archery Championship 2018-19 in New Delhi this year, Savita got the fourth rank. Savita was also a part of the team that won the bronze in the 63rd School National Archery Championship held in Chhattisgarh in the year 2017-18. Savita won the team gold in the Mini Sub Junior Archery Championship held in Andhra Pradesh in 2018-19. Savita was part of the team that won gold at the 2018–19 South Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Savita was honored
Savita Kumari, selected from Jharkhand in the field of sports for the Prime Minister’s National Child Award, was honored by District Social Welfare Officer Shatrujay Kumar and DIO Shivcharan Banerjee on behalf of the district administration.
