Goods Train Derail: Goods train running on the track without engine, know what happened then

Amarendra Kumar Giani, Chaibasa: The goods train ran on the railway track without a driver. After this, there was a stir in the South-East Railway Division, Chakradharpur. From bottom to top the phones of the officers started ringing. No one had any idea what to do. After about a kilometer, the coaches derailed themselves, then the officers got a sigh of relief.

Two bogies of goods train and one guard bogie ran for one kilometer without engine during the setting at Danguwaposi Railway Yard of Chakradharpur Railway Division. Eventually collided with Aiden and derailed. The railways did the work of bringing the derailed bogie back on track. No one died in this accident. But the work of the railway definitely increased.

Major accident during setting
According to railway sources, the centering of bogies was being done at Danguwaposi Railway Yard. At the same time, two wagons of a goods train and a guard’s carriage kept rolling down for one kilometer. A relief team was dispatched as soon as the information was received. The work of repairing the track was started on a war footing. Many senior officers were ready from Railway Division Chakradharpur.

Cans stopped after derailment
In the Danguwaposi section, the incidence of derailment of goods trains and railway engines is more frequent. But this is the first incident of running for one kilometer without engine bogies. Experts say that had this incident happened during the day, there could have been loss of life and property. Railway officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
