On the orders of the Jammu and Kashmir government, the administration has continued to act against encroachments. About 52 kanals of government land were vacated from former minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayyed, a police officer and hotelier. The structures built in these have been demolished with bulldozers.

The boundary wall of the former minister’s residence and a security bunker were brought down in Dahamal Khoshipora area of ​​Anantnag district, officials said. In Mattan area of ​​Anantnag itself, the garden land in the name of the family of an officer of the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police was also vacated.

In both these actions, 12.5 kanals of land has been taken back. Three buildings with shops built on it have also been sealed. Damhal naib tehsildar Mohammad Yasin said former minister Sayyed had illegally encroached on state land.

Now this land will be used for sports ground or hospital. Apart from this, 40 kanals of land encroached by the owners of Hotel Nedou on MA Road in Srinagar have been vacated. Officials said that the hotel is built on 153 Kanal. Of this, 40 kanals are state land and the rest is leasehold land.

The boundary wall and a shed built on it were demolished. Earlier, along with vacating the land from an SSP rank officer in Humhama near the airport, the boundary wall and guard house of the residence of NC general secretary and former minister Ali Mohammad Sagar was demolished.

36 kanals of land were vacated in Jakora as well

The Srinagar district administration got 36 kanals of government land vacated from Hashmat Khan, a resident of Jakora Pathan Colony. The residential quarters, garage and a wall built on it have been demolished with bulldozers. Tehsildar Hazrat Bill Kesar Mahmood Malik told that according to the government records in Jakora Pathan Colony, government land has been encroached upon.
