West Bengal: Explosion in firecracker factory in Bengal, death toll rises to 12, CID engaged in investigation

Fire Cracker Factory: Two more people were injured and killed in a blast at an illegal firecracker factory in Egra area of ​​East Medinipur district in West Bengal. A senior official told on Saturday (May 20) that after this the death toll has increased to 12. 

The officer told that Rabindranath Maiti and Pinky Maiti died in the Government SSKM Hospital here. the officer said "Rabindranath died on Friday night while Pinki Maiti died on Saturday afternoon."

Owner of firecracker company dies
The main accused and owner of the illegal firecracker manufacturing unit, Kalipada alias Bhanu Bagh, died during treatment at a private nursing home in Cuttack, Odisha. He had escaped from the spot soon after the blast on 16 May. West Bengal’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested Bhanu Bagh on Thursday. Nine people were killed on Tuesday, soon after the explosion.

CID is probing the case
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal is probing the blast in Egra area. At least nine people have been arrested so far in the case, apart from the main accused and two others from Odisha. Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday issued a notice to the West Bengal government asking it to submit a detailed report on the blast within four weeks.
