Weather Update: There is a possibility of rain with hail in these states, know what is the latest update of the Meteorological Department

IMD Weather Update: The rainy season continues in most of the states including the country’s capital Delhi. Along with heavy rains, hail fell in many areas of the country and there were dark clouds at some places. This unseasonal rain has given sleepless nights to the farmers as the time to harvest the ripe crop is near. According to the Meteorological Department, these rains are going to last for the next few days.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain and hailstorm will continue in North West, East India on March 20 as well. Apart from this, the possibility of rain and hailstorm has also been expressed in Central, West and South India. There is an alert for rain in the states of North East from March 19 to 21.

The Meteorological Department has said in its press release that apart from the Western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience light to moderate rain and thundershower between March 19 and 20 . In Uttarakhand on March 19 and 21, in Himachal Pradesh and Western Rajasthan on March 19, there will be rain and hailstorm on March 19 and 20 in Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan. On the other hand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh are likely to receive hailstorm on March 20 apart from rain and thunderstorm.

How was the weather yesterday

Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, rain was seen in most parts of the country. Heavy rains were seen in Odisha, Bihar, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu. Whereas, these states as well as Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka witnessed hailstorm along with rain.

If we talk about South India, there is a possibility of rain in northern interior Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Strong winds with moderate rain are expected in East India’s West Bengal, North-East India on March 19-23. Heavy rain alert has been issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura between March 19-21.
