Weather Update: The weather will be pleasant for the next few days, people got relief from unseasonal rain, standing crops destroyed due to hailstorm, know the latest update

Weather Update: The weather has become pleasant after rain in many states across the country. Its effect was seen today (March 19) in the morning. Winds continue to blow with a slight chill. Rain is likely to occur in many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR today. The Meteorological Department has described it as unseasonal rain due to Western Disturbance. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow alert for most states of North India and orange alert for northeastern parts.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that rain and thundershowers are likely to occur in many parts of the country till March 20. This rain has also become a problem in many areas. A child stuck in water in Rajkot, Gujarat was pulled out with the help of a tractor. Along with this, there has been a lot of damage to crops due to hailstorm in Gwalior. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took stock of the area and termed it as climate change damaged. The crops of dozens of villages were destroyed here.

Losses to farmers due to unseasonal rains- Many places in Maharashtra including Mumbai have suffered heavy losses due to rains and hailstorms. Hail along with rain in Gurugram, many areas of Haryana received heavy rain. In UP’s Bulandshahr, the wheat crop has been damaged due to unseasonal rain. The weather has also wreaked havoc in Mandsaur of Madhya Pradesh. The standing crop here was destroyed by the hailstorm. Crops of wheat, chickpeas and opium have been damaged. In UP’s Lalitpur too, farmers have suffered heavy losses due to rain. The roof of a house collapsed due to rain in Uttarakhand’s Roorkee. A person sitting inside the house was injured in this accident.

Rain likely in these states- According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), North West and East India are likely to witness rain accompanied by hail. Rain with lightning and gusty winds are likely over Western Himalayan region and Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan till March 20. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience light to moderate rain with lightning and gusty winds on March 19.
