Stray Dogs Killing: The Kerala government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court seeking permission to kill stray and violent dogs. From the last few days, the news of the terror of stray dogs is coming out every day.
How will the vaccination be done?
MB Rajesh said that a campaign to vaccinate dogs will be conducted in collaboration with the Veterinary University in Kerala. Volunteers and Kudumbashree workers will be given special training by the university.
Government will hire a separate vehicle for vaccination. For this, funds will be allocated to Block Panchayats, Municipal Corporations and Panchayats. Minister MB Rajesh said that their plan is to administer the medicine to the dogs through food. To avoid this, the Municipal Corporations of Ghaziabad and Noida have also made registration of dogs mandatory. A fine of Rs 5000 has also been fixed for non-registration. It will be classified as a crime. This registration process is kept online. Anti-rabies vaccination certificate is mandatory for registration.
What did the Supreme Court say?
The Supreme Court has also suggested installing chips to track stray dogs. Justice Khanna said, ‘Most of us love dogs. I feed the dogs myself. I also feed and walk the dogs. Some of them are of angry nature. In such a case, one has to find some way to solve the problem. Such dogs have to be segregated.
