New Delhi: The BJP has spoken out against the Akali Dal. Punjab BJP in-charge Dushyant Gautam said that earlier Akali Dal was playing the role of elder brother with us. When we came up with the agriculture law, the Akali Dal was very appreciative. After this the Akali Dal, out of petty ambition, set Punjab on fire. This was due to his selfish policy.
On the question of re-alignment with the Akali Dal, Dushyant Gautam said that we have to reconsider who should take it and who should not. It will determine the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. At the same time he laid down the condition that if the Akali Dal came, it would first have to give a certificate of what it had come up with for us.
He said that for us the nation and country first And party later. If anyone comes up with this idea, we welcome it. He said that BJP would contest 117 seats in Punjab. We have candidates for all the seats. He said that we are a nationalist party and if any party considers nationalism as supreme in Punjab then it is welcome. We can also form an alliance with the Akali Dal but the alliance will now be on our terms.
