Night Landing of MiG-29K on INS Vikrant : Indian Navy has achieved another historic achievement. MiG-29K has created history by landing on INS Vikrant at night. The Indian Navy has said that this is a sign of enthusiasm towards the Navy’s self-sufficiency. The Indian Navy has described this achievement as another step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘self-reliant India’. Singh said congratulations to the Indian Navy for successfully completing the first night landing test of the MiG-29K on INS Vikrant. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the skill, tenacity and professionalism of the valiant crew and pilots of the Navy.

The Indian Navy tweeted that this challenging night landing trial shows the determination, skill and professionalism of the crew of INS Vikrant and the Navy pilots.

Importantly, INS Vikrant is the first aircraft carrier to be built in India. It was built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) in Kerala. This indigenous aircraft carrier was named after India’s first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

In September last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over India’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the Navy. The country has now become part of an elite group of countries capable of producing more than 40,000 tonnes of aircraft carriers.
