‘Shopkeepers cannot refuse to take 2000 notes, if they do…’, RBI governor’s big statement

RBI Governor Reaction on 2000 Rupees Notes: After the announcement of Rs 2000 note being out of circulation, people are tense as to what they will do with this note now. However, RBI has made it clear that there is no need to panic about the Rs 2000 note. Now you can not only change 2000 note in the bank, also you can easily buy goods from the note by going to any shop because no shopkeeper can refuse to take this note.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has said that the purpose of bringing 2000 rupee note of RBI has been fulfilled. Rs 2000 notes will be exchanged and deposited only under such a system that the general public does not face any problem. Banks have been instructed to be fully prepared for this. Along with this, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that you can easily buy goods from 2000 notes by going to the shop. 

Rs 2000 note will remain legal tender
RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das says that Rs 2000 note was introduced mainly to compensate for the withdrawn notes after demonetisation. After this, it has now been decided to take these notes out of circulation. However, the Rs 2,000 note will remain legal tender and can be easily deposited and exchanged in banks till September 30, 2023.

Shaktikanta Das says that you have a lot of time to change the note. That’s why it is important that you people do not make any kind of panic in changing the notes. If there is any problem, RBI will listen to it. Care has also been taken to ensure that the public does not face any problem under the ban on exchange of old notes.
