Shiv Sena UBT On Savarkar Gaurav Yatra: Politics has again heated up in Maharashtra regarding freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. BJP and the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has started ‘Veer Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’ from Mumbai. The state government plans to take it out in all the assembly constituencies of the state.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has targeted the Veer Savarkar Gaurav Yatra started by the ruling coalition. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has accused the BJP and the Shinde faction of not respecting Savarkar. The opposition party has said that the ruling coalition is just putting on a show about Savarkar.
‘BJP people only on DP…’
It has been said by the BJP that this Gaurav Yatra has been started to take the story of Veer Savarkar to the masses. People will be made aware about Savarkar through this yatra in entire Maharashtra including Mumbai. In response, the Shiv Sena (UBT) termed it as a political yatra of the BJP and the Shinde faction.
Party leader Anand Dubey said, “Savarkar is only on DP among BJP people, but Uddhav’s Shiv Sena keeps Savarkar in its heart.” If BJP respects Savarkar, then it should announce Bharat Ratna to him.
The issue heated up after Uddhav’s statement on Savarkar
It is noteworthy that this issue became more heated in the politics of Maharashtra from the day when Uddhav Thackeray said in one of his meetings that he considers Savarkar as a deity. He will not tolerate the insult of a freedom fighter. At the same time, Uddhav had asked to discuss this with Rahul Gandhi as well. In fact, on the last few occasions the Congress leader has made statements about Savarkar.
‘Uddhav should not pretend’
BJP organized Veer Savarkar Gaurav Yatra only after Uddhav’s statement. BJP leader and MLA Amit Satam has been made the head of this Gaurav Yatra in Mumbai division. Taking a dig at Uddhav Thackeray, Amit Satam said, “Uddhav Thackeray forms the government with the same Congress, which Rahul Gandhi repeatedly insults Veer Savarkar.” If Thackeray really considers Savarkar as God, then leave the Congress whose leader Rahul repeatedly insults Savarkar. Uddhav should not pretend falsely.”
Sakal Hindu Samaj Morcha is being taken out in Maharashtra at this time. In the midst of this atmosphere, the BJP has started the Veer Savarkar Gaurav Yatra. To run this as a statewide campaign, BJP has entrusted the responsibility to all its leaders. The opposition has alleged that the BJP is creating an atmosphere before the elections in the name of Hindutva.
