Sachin Pilot Vs Ashok Gehlot: Congress leader Sachin Pilot will fast in Jaipur on Tuesday (April 11) despite the party’s warning. Pilot is staging a sit-in against his own party in Rajasthan, led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, to press for action against corruption in the state. The former deputy CM complains that the Ashok Gehlot government of the state has not taken any action in four and a half years on all the corruption issues on the basis of which the Congress came to power in the state. 

Pilot opened a front against his party on Sunday (April 9). Sachin alleged that the state government failed to investigate corruption cases committed during the BJP rule in Rajasthan. Due to which he  announced his plan to go on a day-long fast on 11th April to demand action.

Big things about Sachin Pilot’s fast against Gehlot government

  • Hours ahead of Sachin Pilot’s scheduled fast, the Congress on Monday (April 10) night issued a stern warning to the former Rajasthan deputy chief minister and said any such action on his part would amount to anti-party activity.
  • < li style="text-align: justify;"Responding to Pilot's allegations, Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said, the Sanjeevani Credit Cooperative Society scam investigation is going on against BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Apart from this, Shekhawat has filed a defamation case against Gehlot. Gajendra Singh is currently the Minister of Water Resources in the Union Cabinet.

  • Aam Aadmi Party’s support to Pilot has given a big message to Congress. Aam Aadmi Party in-charge Vinay Mishra has given his support to Sachin’s fast by tweeting.
  • Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Rajasthan in-charge of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), said in a statement tweeted by the INC message, an official page of the Congress party, that Sachin Pilot’s fast is against the party’s interests and is an anti-party activity. If he has a problem with the government, then he should discuss it on the forums of the party and not tell it to the media and the public. Randhawa alleged that he is AICC in-charge for five months and Pilot never discussed the issue with him.
  • Thousands of supporters from different parts of the state are expected to join Pilot during his fast at the martyr’s memorial in Jaipur. 
  • Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a statement on Sunday that the Gehlot government has implemented several schemes with new initiatives in the interest of the people.
  • Pilot and a section of party MLAs had openly revolted demanding a change of leadership in the  state. After which it was over after assurance from the party high command to look into the issues raised by the pilot
