Rajasthan: What did the Congress get by making such a mess in the presidential elections? Dramatically Gehlot out of the tournament

New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has dropped out of the race for Congress president. This was sealed after he met Sonia Gandhi in Delhi today. But what has happened in the Mahabharata party on the occasion of this election, will definitely have an impact on the party.

Ashok Gehlot, whose name was discussed the most for the post of Congress President, has dramatically dropped out of the race. After what happened in the meeting of MLAs in Rajasthan on Sunday, there was a buzz about this. But after Sonia Gandhi’s visit to Delhi today, it was officially sealed. While saying that he has apologized to Sonia Gandhi for what happened in Rajasthan, Gehlot also said that he will not apply for the post of president now. So now we have to see if another new candidate enters the fray for the post of president.

Now only 24 hours are left to fill the application form for the post of Congress president. Tomorrow Friday is the final day. But the jumble of candidates for the post of president is still going on. So far only Shashi Tharoor and Digvijay Singh have gone with the application. But the application form has not been filled yet by any candidate.

While choosing for the post of President, the Congress also needed to manage the balance of power in Rajasthan properly. But in the drama that took place, the internal discipline of the party has come out.

It is seen that the 130-year-old party has come to a standstill while electing a president. Due to the ongoing drama in the presidential election, the message has been sent that the Congress high command has become weaker than ever. Only two states in the country have Congress chief ministers, one being Rajasthan. But it will be difficult for Congress to retain the existing states due to such indiscipline. An OBC face in the form of Gehlot was coming forward in the presidential election, but now the time may come for the party to anoint a person from the royal family like Digvijay Singh. Congress has been in trouble several times due to Digvijay Singh’s bold statements. Therefore, it is more likely that BJP will get Aita Fulltoss with his presidency.

On the other hand, what happens to the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan, whether he remains in Gahlot till next year’s elections also has to be seen. Gehlot has said that he has also told Sonia Gandhi that the order she gives for the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan will be Shirsavanda. Both are presidential candidates. After Gehlot’s out, now it’s anyone’s number in this tournament. It will be known soon.

Either the Congress has not had a full-time president for the past three years. The presidential election, which has been postponed so many times, has been delayed and now it is seen that there is confusion over the candidacy till the last day. The question is how this confusion will be useful to him when he is tasked with building a party that can rival Modi in the vision of 2024.
