A Pakistani drone was also shot down on 26 November
Earlier on 26 November in Amritsar, Punjab, India BSF shot down a Pakistani drone on the Pakistan International Border. On the same day, two men were trying to infiltrate near the border in Pathankot, Punjab. BSF has foiled their infiltration attempt. Compared to 2021, there has been an increase in the infiltration of Pakistani drones into Indian territory. According to the information received, around 230 drones have been spotted on the India-Pakistan border this year, while the number was 104 in 2021. At the same time, the figure was 77 in 2020.
Pakistani drones have been spotted before
Earlier on November 15, a drone was spotted on the India-Pakistan border. BSF personnel spotted a drone near the border in Bamiyal sector of Pathankot in Punjab. He had to run back towards Pakistan after firing by BSF personnel.
297 drone sightings reported since 2020
At least 297 drone sightings have been reported in Punjab since 2020. Suspicious movements of drones have also been detected in Gujarat, Jammu, Punjab and Rajasthan in October this year. According to sources, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has been found to be sending arms and drugs through drones.
