NITI Aayog: The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) has released the task force report keeping in view the improvement in the economic conditions of Gaushalas. In this, special attention has been paid to the production of organic fertilizers. Dr. Neelam Patel, Senior Advisor, NITI Aayog said that the use of cow dung and cow urine is a perfect example of circular economy which promotes the idea of Waste to Wealth.
Dr. Patel told about making Gaushalas financially strong, solving the problem of stray cattle and effective use of cow dung and cow urine in agriculture. He said that cattle have been an integral part of the traditional agricultural system in India. Gaushalas can help a lot in promoting natural farming and organic farming. Cattle waste can reduce agrochemicals.
What is the strength of South Asian agriculture?
Patel said that apart from this it can also act as plant nutrients and plant protection for economic, health, environmental and sustainability reasons. During this, he released the report in the presence of Task Force members, senior government officials and representatives of Gaushalas. The rest of the NITI Aayog members emphasized that the unique strength of South Asian agriculture is the integration of livestock with crops.
