Passport Police Clearance Certificate: With the change in the rules by the central government, getting a passport has become easier. These new rules have come into effect across the country from today i.e. 28 September 2022. Until now, the most time consuming to obtain a passport was the approval of the Police Clearance Certificate i.e. PCC. But now the Ministry of External Affairs has come up with a solution to this problem. Now Passport applicants can apply for Police Clearance Certificate at all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras. This will save the time of the applicants and the applicants will get the passports at the earliest.
Police Clearance Certificate through Post Office
According to the new rule effective from today, online application for Police Clearance Certificate can be made. Citizens can apply online through Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs). Earlier, while making a statement about this, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that there has been a steady increase in the demand for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for making passports for the past few months. In such a situation, the option of passport verification has been made available through online Post Office Passport Seva Kendra. This is where the police clearance process is mandatory, as the applicant’s criminal record, if any, needs to be checked before they are allowed to get a passport.
