National Herald Case: ED summons to five Congress leaders, inquiry to be held tomorrow in National Herald case

National Herald Case: ED has summoned five Congress leaders for questioning in the National Herald case. ED has asked these leaders to appear at the ED head office in Delhi tomorrow i.e. Tuesday. Leaders Anjan Kumar, Mohammad Ali Shabbir, Geeta Reddy, Sudarshan Reddy and Gali Anil are included. 

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi were directors of Young India Private Limited when these leaders donated. were given ED has summoned these leaders for its details, ED sources said. Earlier on Sunday, the ED had summoned Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar for questioning in the ongoing money laundering probe at the Congress party-owned National Herald. ED has asked him to appear in Delhi on October 7. The summons came as the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Karnataka. Shivakumar has also participated in the yatra. The Yatra has entered Karnataka on September 30. 

ED has now summoned several Congress leaders from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for questioning in the Herald case. Young Indian owns National Herald newspaper. Apart from sealing Young Indian’s office in August, ED conducted raids at dozens of locations. ED has questioned senior Congress leaders like Congress president Sonia Gandhi, MP Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Pawan Bansal. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were interrogated for several days in this case. Congress had organized a nationwide protest against the action of ED. At this time, the police had detained many Congress leaders.
