Union Cabinet Meeting Decisions: An important meeting of the Union Cabinet was held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After this meeting, Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed about the decisions taken by holding a press conference. He said that a Cabinet meeting was held under the leadership of the Prime Minister in which 3 decisions were taken to advance the concept of self-reliant India. Cabinet approves PLI for High Efficiency Solar PV Module Trans-2 The scheme has been approved.

Anurag Thakur said that a provision of Rs 19,500 crore was made for this. Also, PLI scheme has been launched in 14 regions. This scheme will boost the manufacturing of solar panels in the country. He said that the second decision is about the production of semi-conductors and displays. The semiconductor fabrication policy has been made more attractive. The Cabinet has approved amendments to the program for development of semiconductors and display manufacturing ecosystem.

He said 50% incentive would be given for technology nodes as well as compound semiconductors, packaging and other semiconductor facilities. This will provide employment to 2 lakh people directly and 8 lakh people indirectly.

The Union Minister said that the third decision is about the National Logistics Policy, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on September 17. This policy has been approved. The government aims to improve the Logistics Performance Index ranking and join the top 25 countries by 2030. Let us tell you that on September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the outline of the National Logistics Policy. Through this, it aims to reduce transportation related costs by promoting smooth movement of products across the country.

While releasing the logistics policy, the Prime Minister said that it aims to bring down the logistics cost to single digits from the current level of 13-14 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Under the logistics policy, it is proposed to develop a Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) which will act as a facilitator for various government and private agencies.
