Karnataka Election: After the Model Code of Conduct in Karnataka, 9.59 crore worth of items seized for free distribution, know what was recovered

Action On Freebies Ahead Karnataka Election: Since the Model Code of Conduct came into force in Karnataka from March 29, items worth Rs 9.59 crore brought for free distribution have been seized. The officials gave this information on Saturday (April 1). Assembly elections are to be held in Karnataka on May 10. 

According to a statement issued by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), the flying squad jointly, “Static Surveillance Team” (AST) and police officials seized Rs 7.87 crore in cash, 1,156.11 liters of liquor worth Rs 5.80 lakh and 39.25 kg of drugs worth Rs 21.77 lakh. Goods worth Rs 9.59 crore brought for free distribution have been seized. The statement said that 172 FIRs have been registered so far.

All the teams made this much seizure

It has been said in the statement that 150 vehicles have been seized so far. It also said, “A total seizure of Rs 39.38 crore has been made by all the teams, which includes cash, free distribution items, liquor, drugs etc.”
