Karnataka Election 2023: The bugle of assembly elections in Karnataka can be sounded anytime and there is a possibility of elections in 224 assembly seats in the month of May. On Thursday (March 9), a team of the Election Commission visited the state. All the political parties are also engaged in their preparations for the elections. In this sequence, it has been said by the Congress that the party has prepared a list of most of the candidates for the upcoming state elections.
According to news agency PTI, Congress said on Thursday that its screening committee has finalized the list of candidates for most of the assembly seats in view of the upcoming elections and will soon send it to the party high command for approval. The party also said that as soon as the Election Commission announces the election dates, the list will also be released.
What did Shivakumar say?
Congress President in Karnataka DK Shivakumar said, “We have discussed 170 seats, still about 50 seats are left. We will discuss and send our opinion to the Central Election Committee. There is unanimity in opinion, everything is running smoothly without any confusion.” He further said that the screening committee has tried its best to provide justice to every section of the society. Shivakumar said, “While preparing our list, social engineering was also kept in mind. The list of candidates will be released after the Election Commission announces the dates.”
