Jamshedpur Violence: Clash between two groups in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, arson of shops with stone pelting

Jamshedpur Violence: On Sunday (April 9) in Jamshedpur city of Jharkhand, once again two groups came face to face. During this, stone pelting and arson also took place. Religious slogans have also been raised from both the groups. As soon as the information was received, a large number of police forces reached the spot. By late night the entire area was converted into a police cantonment.

Stone pelting started between two groups after the alleged desecration of a religious flag in Shastri Nagar, Jamshedpur. After which the furious mob also started arson. Prohibitory orders were imposed in the area on Sunday evening after the violence broke out. The officials gave this information. Sub-Divisional Officer (Dhalbhum) Piyush Sinha said prohibitory orders have been imposed under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. 

Six injured in stone pelting

He said that six people were injured in stone pelting while the violent mob set ablaze two shops and an auto-rickshaw. Police fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Officials said adequate police force has been deployed to maintain law and order in Shastrinagar under Kadma police station area.

Violence took place on Ram Navami as well

Earlier on Ram Navami, there was a clash between two groups in Haldipokhar area of ​​Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Stones were pelted during the Ram Navami immersion procession here after a group opposed the procession. The second group then organized the recitation of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. About five people were injured in the arson that took place during this period. Incidents of violence were reported from Howrah in West Bengal and Sasaram and Nalanda in Bihar during Ram Navami celebrations.
