Chandigarh:  The last date for filing nominations for the election of Congress president is September 30. Even before this, there has been commotion over the elections. Digvijay Singh, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and a senior leader, is also said to file nomination for the election of the President. Earlier, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has also announced his nomination.

Shashi Tharoor will file nomination papers on September 30 at 11 am. Congress Central Election Authority President Madhusudan Mistry was informed about Shashi Tharoor’s nomination by his representative. Shashi Tharoor was the first to talk about contesting the election after the notification for the election of the Congress president was issued. After Rahul Gandhi’s decision not to contest, Ashok Gehlot also joined the race.

Gehlot still in the race?

The process started from September 24, which will continue till September 30. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 8. In case of more than one candidate, the voting will be held on October 17 and the results will be declared on October 19.
