Election Commission: The Election Commission (EC) is preparing for the 9 assembly elections to be held this year and the Lok Sabha elections to be held early next year. Whose objective is to increase the voter percentage through innovative communication strategies. As an initiative, the Election Commission in collaboration with the Subhash Ghai Foundation prepared a song ‘Main Bharat Hoon, Hum Bharat Ke Matdata Hain’, in which celebrities from different walks of life appealed to people to vote.
This song on the 13th National Voters’ Day, 25 January, by the President Draupadi Murmu. This song is already getting popular on social media through celebrities. Within a week of its launch, the Hindi and multilingual version of the song has already garnered over 3.5 lakh views and 5.6 lakh impressions across the four major social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, officials said.
The team of Subhash Ghai has given the final touches to the song
The song is one of such initiatives of the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation Program of the Election Commission. Which is the flagship voter education program focused on inclusive strategies and action plans to increase participation from all categories of voters under the motto of Election Commission No Voter Left Behind. The purpose of the song is not only to educate voters about their rights and responsibility to strengthen democracy. Rather, it is also to encourage them for maximum participation in the electoral process. According to Election Commission officials, the song was finalized after several talks by the Subhash Ghai-led team with the Election Commission under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar.
The songs are in 12 regional languages
The Chief Election Commissioner said, this song is dedicated to every voter. One who takes cognizance of his national duty and casts his vote overcoming all obstacles. The inspirational lyrics of the song have been written and composed by filmmaker Subhash Ghai in collaboration with Whistling Woods International School of Music, Mumbai. The song is in 12 regional languages Hindi and Bengali covering maximum geographical area.
