Government of India advisory for Indian citizens and students in Canada

Advisory for students in Canada: India has today issued an advisory to Indian citizens in Canada and students going to study there to be vigilant in view of increasing crimes and anti-India activities there. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Indian officials had raised these incidents with the Canadian authorities and urged them to investigate these matters.

There has been a rapid increase in incidents of racial and communal violence and anti-Indian activities in Canada. The Ministry of External Affairs has asked Indians to be vigilant in this matter. The advisory also states that Indian citizens and students in Canada can also lodge their complaints with the High Commission of India in Ottawa or the Consulate General of India in Toronto and Vancouver.

These complaints will be registered. Such registration will enable the High Commission and the Consulate General to better contact Indian nationals in Canada in case of any need or emergency, the adviser said.
