Bengaluru Professor Prabhakar: It is said that there is no age for reading and learning. Whenever you get time, you should read and learn it according to the circumstances. All the people of the world have shown this proverb to be meaningful. Some people considered age as just a number and fulfilled their dreams. Something similar has been done by Professor Prabhakar Kuppahalli, who lives in Bangalore and has been around for four decades. Prabhakar completed his PhD in Physics at the age of 79.
Prabhakar told, his dream was to do PhD which has now been fulfilled. He had this dream long ago, when he was young and was doing in the company of America. At that time he was about to do PhD, but some such situation happened due to which he could not do it. Then at the age of 75, thought that PhD should be done and in 2017 took admission for PhD in Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He is also a guest teacher in the same college.
Graduated in 1966
Prabhakar was born in the year 1944 and graduated in engineering from IISc Bangalore in 1966. Worked in IIT Bombay for a few years and later moved to America. Prabhakar completed his master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976 and worked there for 15 years. After which he returned to India. Prabhakar’s wife is a housewife.
Prabhakar never let age come in front of his dreams. Perhaps because of this he has got success today. Junath Pattabi, head of the physics department of the college, told Prabhakar that the course-work exam is of three hours. Due to which the college had provided Prabhakar a comfortable chair considering his age, but Prabhakar refused it and appeared in the normal chair like other candidates.
