According to the police, on Monday (April 10) at 7.19 am, information was received that an elderly couple had been murdered in G 245, street number 13/6, Bhagirathi Vihar. The police reached the spot and found the elderly couple lying on the bed in the bedroom on the ground floor of the house. Stuff inside the house was also scattered here and there. The throats of both of them were slit. The old man’s son Ravi Ratna (38) lives with his wife Monika (29) and 6-year-old son Jayesh on the first floor of the same house.
Police told that the elderly Radhe Shyam had retired from the post of Deputy Principal from a Delhi government school located in Karol Bagh Model Basti, he was living in this house with his family for the last 38 years. The miscreants took away four and a half lakh rupees kept in the house and some ornaments with them.
The miscreants took entry from the back door of the house
The police suspect that the miscreants might have taken entry through the iron door at the rear of the house. Ravi Verma, the son of the elderly couple, earlier worked as a guest teacher in a school in Mustafabad. Presently he runs a garment and cosmetic shop in Johripur area. Ravi Verma last saw his parents at 10.30 last night.
