Manish Sisodia Remand: AAP leader Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi Excise Policy case, was presented in Rouse Avenue Court. There was a hearing regarding his remand. During this, the ED demanded to increase the remand of Manish Sisodia. The court has extended his remand for 5 more days. He will now be in remand till March 22.
ED told the court that Alok Srivastava has given some important information about which investigation is yet to be done. On the basis of this, C Arvind has to be interrogated. Later C Arvind, Sanjay Goyal and Gopikrishna have to be confronted.
ED said that the mobile was changed on July 22 as soon as the complaint was received. During interrogation, Sisodia could not tell what was done with that phone. That’s why we have to inquire about electronic data also. The ED claimed that the March 2019 document found from Sisodia’s computer had 5 per cent commission, which was increased to 12 per cent in September 2022. This was done at the behest of the South Lobby.
Sisodia’s lawyer opposed
Sisodia’s lawyer opposed the bail and said that what the ED was saying Yes, CBI has also said the same things in the court. There is nothing new in this. The lawyer said that only 12 to 13 hours of questioning has been done in 7 days.
On this the ED said that every day 5 to 6 hours of questioning has been done. We have CCTV. On Thursday (March 16) too, 6 hours of questioning took place.
ED had arrested Sisodia
Former Delhi CM Manish Sisodia was arrested for changing the excise policy. He was arrested on February 26 on charges of alleged scam. Manish Sisodia was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 9 in a money laundering case while he was lodged in Tihar Jail. The ED had also questioned Sisodia in Tihar Jail in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy case.
After his arrest, the ED produced Manish Sisodia in the court, where the court produced him Was sent to ED remand.
