Delhi Government Vs LG: Saurabh Bhardwaj, Cabinet Minister of Delhi Government, has written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi asking for the files related to the officials of the Delhi Government. Bhardwaj has written his letter citing the new decision of the Supreme Court that he should pass the transfer file of the Secretary of the Services Department.
He said, we have sent the file for the removal of the secretary of the service department to you two days ago, please return that file to us. He said, the government wants to make many administrative changes in the matter related to the officers, for this they want to transfer the secretary of the service department. On Thursday, Saurabh also targeted LG for not returning the files.
What did minister Saurabh Bhardwaj say?
Delhi government minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Thursday alleged that the file related to the change of service secretary was transferred from the office of Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena to the city’s general public. The Aadmi Party (AAP) government has not got it back yet. At the same time, he questioned whether this is yet another attempt to obstruct the functioning of a democratically elected government.
No immediate response could be received from the Lieutenant Governor’s office. On May 11, the Delhi government removed Ashish More, secretary of the Services Department, hours after the Supreme Court granted him control over transfer-posting. The Supreme Court, while giving its verdict on May 11, had said that the Delhi government has legislative and executive powers with respect to services other than public order, police and land.
