Congress: Congress will get a new president on October 19, election notification issued; Such is the schedule

New Delhi: Congress is now sure to get a president from outside the Gandhi family and the notification for the election for the post of president (AICC President Polls) has been issued. The applications for the post of president will be submitted from September 24 to 30 and the new president of the Congress will be announced on October 19. Mistry has issued a notification in this regard today. In this, the time for filing the application for the post of Congress president has been given from September 24 to September 30. After that these applications will be verified. The time for withdrawal of applications will be till October 8.

If more than one application is left during this period, the election for the post of President will be held on October 17. The result of this election will be announced on October 19. Rahul Gandhi has already announced that he will not contest the Congress presidential election. After that, the names of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and MP Shashi Tharoor are being discussed for the post of president and it is reported that both these leaders will contest the election. In the intervening two years, i.e. from 2017 to 2019, Rahul Gandhi took the reins of the party. Later this responsibility was once again given to Sonia Gandhi.

In the last few years, i.e. after 2014, it is seen that the Congress party is going backwards in all the elections. In the two Lok Sabha elections held after 2014, the Congress suffered a crushing defeat. After that Congress lost power in many states. During the presidency of Rahul Gandhi, Congress took a huge step back.

It is now clear that Congress will get a president from outside the Gandhi family in this year’s elections. So we have to see whether the new president will save the Congress now.
