Bharat Jodo Yatra: There is a verbal clash between Congress and BJP over Bharat Jodo Yatra. Similarly, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh attacked the BJP and RSS and said that Bharat Jodo Yatra is not only against BJP’s alleged divisive politics, but also to re-unite the party organization across the country. Jairam Ramesh said that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will listen to the problems of common people during the 3,570 km journey from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Jammu and Kashmir. He said, this is a new and aggressive Congress. which is connecting with the masses.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge Jairam Ramesh has responded to Rahul Gandhi’s comments on social media regarding his clothes, saying, "This is childish and stupid act of one party. Those who are disappointed with the tour. Their intention is to distract us from the goal. We will not yield. We will not be distracted."

Jairam Ramesh said that this yatra is not being undertaken with any assembly election or 2024 Lok Sabha election in mind. He alleged that, "We’re doing the work of adding, because someone is doing the work of breaking. BJP-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has planned to divide India. So Congress has planned to bring the country together. The BJP-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh rejected diversity, so we have started this journey.”

Congress MP K.C. Venugopal said, “Gandhi’s comments about clothes show that the Bharat Jodo Yatra has become a problem for those parties who want to destroy the Congress.” Our intention is very clear. We aim to stop the spread of fear and hatred while spreading love and affection.”

Venugopal said that Rahul Gandhi will interact with the fishermen who are opposing the Vizhinjam port project. He will also interact with the leaders of the anti-K-rail movement and other such movements in the state. After this, Rahul Gandhi will go to the other side of the Bharat Jodi Yatra route to pay homage to social reformers Ayyankali, Chathampi Swamikal and Shri Narayan Guru.
