Al-Mohed-Al Hindi-23: Navy of India and Saudi Arabia will conduct joint exercise in May 2023

India-Saudi Arabia Naval Exercise: In the last few years, there has been a lot of strength in the relations between India and Saudi Arabia. Be it trade or health, technology or defence, both the countries are working together in every field. Naval officers of both countries met in Mumbai on Thursday (March 16) to discuss the proposed joint exercise. 

According to ANI news agency, the navies of India and Saudi Arabia will conduct joint military training with each other in May this year. There is a plan to organize this military training in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. It has been named Al-Mohad-al Hindi-23. This is the second such joint military exercise between the navies of the two countries. 

Navys of both countries met

The first exercise between the two countries was held in August 2021. A team of Royal Saudi Navy personnel met Indian Navy personnel in Mumbai. Indian Navy officials gave this information on Thursday (16 March). They said, "Officers of the navies of both the countries met to finalize the preparations for the maneuvers to be held in Jubail, Saudi Arabia in May and this joint military exercise was discussed."

Roadmap was made in Riyadh conference

The objective of this exercise is to conduct an electronic warfare drill for tactical manoeuvres, search and rescue operations and enhancing interoperability. During the Riyadh Summit held in 2019, the framework for conducting such military exercise between the two countries was decided. 

‘The relations between the two countries strengthened’

Recently, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Farhan Al-Saud had praised PM Modi fiercely. He had said that relations with India were the top priority. He had said, "Both PM Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are engaged in strengthening the relationship between the two countries. In the last few years, the relations between the two countries have grown rapidly."
