Delhi Liquor Scam: After ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in Delhi’s liquor case, now the screws are being tightened on Kavita, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister KCR. The ED has called Kavita on Thursday (March 9) for questioning in the case related to the Delhi liquor scam. Summons have been sent to them. She reached Delhi on Wednesday (8 March) evening. However, he has sought a week’s time from the Central Investigation Agency for the ED’s inquiry.
He said, "She will fully cooperate with the probe agency, but will seek legal opinion on the date of her statement in view of her proposed dharna on March 10 in Delhi in support of the Women’s Reservation Bill." Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. CBI has already interrogated Kavita in Hyderabad. In the inquiry held on 12 December, K.K. Kavita was interrogated for about seven hours.
Kavita’s CA gets bail
Earlier, Buchibabu Gorantla, the chartered accountant of Kavita, accused in the Delhi Excise Policy case, got relief from the court on Monday (March 6). He got bail from Rouse Avenue Court. Gorantla was arrested for his alleged role in the formulation and implementation of the policy and for causing undue benefit to Hyderabad-based wholesale-retail licensees, their beneficial owners.
Manish Sisodia is locked in Tihar
In this case, former Deputy CM of Delhi and AAP leader Manish Sisodia was arrested by CBI on February 26 after about 8 hours of questioning. Sisodia is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. He has been kept in Jail No-1 in Tihar Jail. In this regard, AAP has accused BJP of conspiring to kill Sisodia.
