Aadhaar Voter ID linking : Link your Voter ID with Aadhaar! You can do this work even sitting at home

Aadhaar Voter ID linking : Linking of Voter ID to Aadhaar card has now started in all states across the country. The voter ID card is being linked with Aadhaar to verify the identity of the voters and avoid duplication in the voter list. Voter card, Aadhaar card and mobile number are required to link voter ID card to Aadhaar card. After having these documents, Aadhaar number and mobile number can be done online from your own mobile phone through  voter Helpline app.  Your voter ID card will also be linked with Aadhaar card at every polling station and voter registration officer office in the state. The campaign for the same is currently underway, information from the State Election Commission on its official website (https://ceo.maharashtra.gov.in/ )  has been given.  For this, a statewide camp has been organized by the Election Commission on September 11.  

Voter ID card link to Aadhaar which can be done even at home 

1. First of all download Voter Helpline app. It is available for both Android and iOS users. 

2. After that click on Electoral Authentication Form (Form 6B) and open it. Then click on  Let’s Start  . 

3. Enter your registered mobile number. This number must be linked with Aadhaar card. After entering the number, an OTP will appear on it. 

4. Enter the OTP you received and then click on  Verify   Then click on  Yes I Have Voter ID  and click on  Next  . 

5. After this enter your Voter ID Number (EPIC). Select your state and click on Fetch details. Then proceed by clicking on  Proceed  . 

6. Then enter your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, in the field of authentication and click Done. 

7. Finally the Review page of your Form 6-B will open. After checking all your information in it, click on Confirm. Your Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card will be linked. 

The Election Commission had started working on a scheme to link Voter ID Card with Aadhaar Card in  2015. But the Supreme Court stayed it. Then in 2019, the Election Commission recommended electoral reforms. For electoral reforms, last year the central government brought a bill to amend the electoral law. This bill has now become law. This has also paved the way for linking voter ID card with Aadhaar. Linking voter ID card with Aadhaar will help in preventing election rigging. 

Many cases come up where the same person enters his name multiple times in the electoral roll, causing confusion in elections. To avoid this confusion Aadhaar card should be linked with mobile number.
