Guwahati Water Supply Pipe Bursts: A woman died and five others were injured after a water supply line burst in Assam’s Kharguli area of Guwahati on Thursday (May 25). An official said that the strong flow of water damaged several houses and vehicles and people ran here and there to save themselves. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, the official said. Senior officials have reached the spot and the cause of the incident is being ascertained.

Water entered many houses

Assured to restore water supply soon
According to local media, Gammon JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in Kharguli, Guwahati. The main water supply line burst around 3 pm. The name of the woman who lost her life in the accident is being told as Sumitra Rabha. Sumitra lived in one of the houses damaged by the flood. The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has assured that water supply will be restored soon.
