Minister Ktr: A Telugu woman traveling in their flight was forced to change her seat by the Indigo flight crew due to her inability to speak Hindi and English. Telangana Minister KTR reacted strongly to this incident. Expressing impatience with the behavior of the flight crew, Indigo Airlines has been advised to hire staff who speak local languages in regional flights. For the convenience of those who do not know English and Hindi, they asked to appoint speakers of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and other languages. To this end, a post was made on social media tagging the Indigo company.
If we go into the details.. On 16th of this month, while a woman was coming from Vijayawada to Hyderabad in an Indigo flight, she was taken away from the seat she was sitting on because she could not speak English but Hindi.. and was made to sit somewhere else. Devasmita, who is working as an assistant professor at IIM Ahmedabad, posted on her Twitter account about this incident. The woman who was sitting near the exit door in 2A seat was shifted to 3C seat as she could not speak another language. The flight attendant who spoke to her tweeted that she discriminated against the woman citing a security concern. The Telugu woman's photo was also shared. Minister KTR responded to this and tweeted. He tagged the IndiGo management suggesting that even passengers who could only speak local languages should be respected.
Dear @IndiGo6E Management, I request you to start respecting local languages & passengers who may not be well conversant in English or Hindi
In regional routes, recruit more staff who can speak the local language like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada etc. This will be a win-win solution https://t.co/GbJGi5nl0W
