Hyderabad: Liquor shops will be shut for 2 days in 3 commissionerates.

Immersion of Ganesha idols will be held in Hyderabad on Friday. Ganesha idols from all over the city including Khairatabad and Balapur will flock to Hussain Sagar. In this order, the police department has imposed restrictions on liquor sales in many areas. Liquor shops and Kallu compounds have been ordered to be closed for 2 days in the jurisdiction of 3 commissionerates. It has been clarified that from 6 am on Friday (September 9) till 6 am on Sunday (11 September), wineries, bars and brick and mortar shops will be closed. It said that these measures are being taken carefully before any untoward incident happens. Strict action will be taken if anyone violates the rules. 12,000 police force will be deployed in the surrounding areas including Hussainsagar. Hyderabad CP CV Anand will monitor the immersion from command control. 22 cranes have been made available at Hussainsagar. 20 JCBs are kept ready for waste extraction. Health centers have also been set up to provide medical treatment in emergency situations.

Police patrolling has already started in the troubled areas of Hyderabad including the Old City. All routes connecting to Tankbund and key mosque centers were kept under special vigil. At the same time religious leaders called Hyderabadi Muslims. Religious leader Qubool Pasha Shittari said that in Hyderabad, which is named after Gangajamuna Tehjeeb, peace and tranquility are important. It is suggested that the special prayers held on Friday should be done in local mosques everywhere.
