Head and Neck Cancer: Head and neck cancers are the seventh most common cancer worldwide. Head and neck cancer cases are increasing in our country. Cancers that occur in the respiratory-digestive system of the head are called head and neck cancer. Cancers in parts like lips, mouth, gills, tongue, nasal cavity (nose part), pharynges, larynx, sinuses, thyroid gland come down to the head and neck. There are two types of head and neck cancers.. Oral cavity, fairings. If the cancer spreads to the lips, cheeks, tongue and mouth, it is called oral cavity. The fairings are tube-shaped and extend up to the nose, mouth, and throat. Causes of head and neck cancer

  • The most common cause of head and neck cancer is pan, tobacco, tobacco, tobacco and cigarette smoking habits. About 70% to 80% of these cancers are linked to tobacco use. Secondhand smoking also increases the risk.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption also increases the risk of these cancers.

  • Difficulty in breathing and swallowing.

  • Sudden weight loss.

Treatment depends on many factors such as the part of the cancer, stage, patient’s age and health. If identified at the first stage.. the chances of success are high.
Stage 1 & 2: If found in stage 1, stage 2… this cancer can be cured only with surgery. Sometimes radiation is given.
