Municipal bodies in the state raided shops selling meat and issued closure notices to many of them for flouting norms. Many chicken shops also remained closed during this campaign.

During the hearing on these applications, public prosecutor Manisha Lavkumar said that chicken also comes under the category of ‘animal’ as per law under the Act.
