Ahmedabad: Considering the murder of Srishti Rayani as the rarest of rare case, the Jetpur court of Rajkot district has sentenced the murderer Jayesh Sarvaiya to death. Two years ago, on March 16, 2021, Saravaiya brutally murdered 16-year-old Srishti, studying in class 11th. In this incident, Sarvaiya had stabbed the girl 34 times with knives. Not only this, this 26-year-old killer had targeted Srishti’s brother. After the incident, there was a demand in entire Saurashtra including Rajkot to punish the murderer of Srishti. Within two years, the Sessions Court of Jetpur has framed charges in this case and sentenced the murderer to death.

Court said this heinous crime
Jetpur Sessions Court Judge RR Chaudhary had convicted the accused in the past. The court sentenced the accused to death on 13 March. The family had also demanded capital punishment for the accused. Before pronouncing the verdict, the court considered the case as a heinous and cruel crime and refused to give any concession to the accused of murder, calling it the rarest of the rare case. After this murder, the police had registered a case under Section 302, 449 of IPC and Section 135 of Gujarat Police under POCSO Act. The court first declared him guilty under these sections and then announced the punishment.

The convict took his life on refusal
According to information, Jayesh, who took Srishti’s life, loved her unilaterally and wanted to marry her, when Srishti refused to marry and talk, he killed Srishti by attacking with knives. In this case, the echo was revealed in the whole of Saurashtra. After the incident, Hardik Patel and BJP state president CR Patil and Jetpur MLA and then minister Jayesh Radia had reached. Everyone had promised severe punishment. Janak Patel, the public prosecutor in the court demanded severe punishment and quoted the Nirbhaya case of Delhi. After this the court sentenced him to death.

Mother said, daughter got justice
The family has welcomed the death sentence given to the murderer of Srishti Raiyani. Talking to the media, Srishti’s parents and brother said that we express our gratitude to all those people who supported the family in the last two years. Srishti’s mother said that my daughter has got justice today. may her soul rest in peace. Srishti’s brother said that I too had received 5 knife wounds. It is true that the murderer has been given the death penalty. We express our gratitude to the court.
